March 2007 Newsletter
CEO’s Introduction
I recently received an email from a friend in Europe who was complaining about receiving 6 inches of snow, so I pointed him towards an online news article describing the 12 feet of snow upstate New York had received during the same period. Everything is relative. Put another way, in America, 100 years is a long time—in England, 100 miles is a long way.
When we first brought PowerSites to the market, we spoke to many Realtors about the features they wanted, how they wanted the product to work, and, most importantly, how much they would be prepared to pay. It should come as no surprise that we received the biggest difference in opinions on the price issue, with a range of $500 to free. Price, it seemed, was relative to the market the client worked in: the selling price of the home related to how much they would be prepared to pay for a PowerSite. We settled on $99 and have seen our clients use PowerSites for everything from trailers to multi-million dollar homes, but we still heard clients say that we were priced too high.
Over the past several months, we have implemented cost savings across our business by developing a more scalable product and by taking advantage of the decreasing cost of technology. At the same time, we saw a slowing property market cause our clients to watch every dollar they spent on marketing. These two things have been the catalyst for our recent price reductions, making PowerSites now available for as low as $35. In addition to the price reduction, we have rolled out several new important product enhancements and services as detailed on our Website.
Too often we hear our clients say “As soon as someone finds out I’m a Realtor they think I have all the money in the world to spend.” We have always recognized that each Realtor is a business owner and that all costs need to be justifiable, manageable, and show a tangible return. I hope our recent price reductions help in this regard and make a PowerSite the right tool to use for all budgets.
As always feel free to contact me personally, at any time, for any reason.

CEO

The “Brick and Mortar”-LESS storefront
The Internet age is no new concept; it has been around for quite some time. For me to say, “the Internet revolution is upon us” and expect you to keep reading this article is silly, not to mention it’s a prophecy that’s about 20 years too late. Real Estate buyers in this “new world” are 20 to 30-somethings, and are extremely tech-savvy, having grown up doing everything on the Internet, from buying groceries to paying bills. They simply don’t have the patience to spend hours upon hours, weekend after weekend trooping through homes they aren’t really interested in, on weekends they could be spending at the beach…
