To Certify or not To Certify: The Answer to a Slow Market
So, you’re sitting in your office wondering, how can I make my real estate business better? Suddenly you realize that you may not be taking full advantage of the latest real estate web-based technologies. After all, the traditional techniques just aren’t cutting it in the slow market, and you just don’t have that unique edge anymore. Or maybe you’re new to the business and you think that there just HAS to be a better way to reach a larger, diverse audience. Should you research the technologies your competition is using and try to decide which ones to pursue on your own? Or should you actually read one of those countless training advertisements your email account junks everyday?
Let’s look at your options… you have three of them. The first one requires the least amount of effort - of course…you could do nothing at all. This may offer you a couple of more hours of TV each night, but it certainly won’t help increase your client base or make your business any more successful.
Ok, on to option #2; research the most popular technologies used by RE agencies today, and then teach them to yourself. Immediately, a host of questions surface. What technologies do people use today?… which ones are successful? Once I know which ones I want to learn, how do I learn them? You start to think that this choice is going to require quite a bit of time and effort on your part, and even then, you may not choose the right technologies to research. Besides, taking care of your home and your business doesn’t exactly leave you with a lot of time or money that you can just throw around without having anything to show for it. Then you remember that semester-long independent research project you had back in college… the one that you left until the night before it was due. You think to yourself, “Maybe I should look for something with a little more structure to it…”
This leaves you with option #3; you need to enroll in a technology training program such as The Real Estate Webographer™ certification. A formal certification program solves a myriad of “Do-It-Yourselfer” problems. The research to determine which technologies you need in your toolbox has already been completed for you. The courses are laid out in logical fashion, and best of all, they are web-based—which means they can meet anyone’s schedule; available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Most training available on the web just isn’t enough, and very few people have the patience to sit through slide after slide of mindless, text-based instruction. That’s why the certification courses offered at Webographers.com were designed to be a multimedia experience. Visually stimulating and animated presentations complete with audio narration liven up the training. To see a free sample of this experience, please visit: http://sample.webographers.com/6/player.html
This certification program also adds a host of benefits at a fraction of the price of a do-it-yourself education. Included with each course is a case study demonstrating the lessons learned in each section with real-world real estate technologies, such as AgencyLogic’s PowerSite “Single Property Website” technology, which puts the seller’s interests back in the forefront by establishing a full web presence for one property.
Proctors on staff are available to answer any of your questions. Further, The National Institute of Webograhers, LLC (NIW) strives to create a sense of community at Webographers.com by enabling an environment for discussion of various RE topics on its website blog. Simply submit your questions and see the thoughts and opinions of other Webographers.
Obtaining The Real Estate Webographer™ certification is a far more intelligent choice then attempting to train yourself. Completing the courses and obtaining the certification not only gives you a sense of accomplishment, but also allows you to utilize it as a valuable marketing tool on your webpage (now that you know how to make one) and to display to your clients. NIW ensures that real estate professionals are aware and proficient in current web-centric technologies, processes and best practices through its certification of The Real Estate Webographer™. This program teaches real estate professionals how to develop and maintain an effective business strategy in a web-based environment. Participants come to the program somewhat tech-savvy and leave with a more comprehensive understanding of what tools are available to increase their efficiency and productivity, as well as the confidence to use them regularly. The program helps real estate agents and affiliates increase marketability by aiding in determining where they should invest their resources to generate leads, acquire new clients, advertise and facilitate closings.
